Coast FA Overview

Soccer continues to grow rapidly along the Grand Strand, with families across the region embracing the world’s largest youth sport in record numbers. In 2006, local soccer leaders recognized the need for a unified, long-term development structure that matched the quality found in other parts of the state. Multiple organizations came together to form Coast Futbol Alliance (Coast FA) — a club built to serve every player, at every level, across our community.

Today, Coast FA brings together the area’s top coaching talent, dedicated volunteers, and a complete pathway for youth development. Our CMC Coast FA Recreation League provides a fun, inclusive environment for players of all skill levels each spring and fall. For athletes seeking year-round development beyond recreational play, the Select Academy Program offers structured training and competitive opportunities. Older players preparing for high school or college soccer can advance into our Select Team pathway.

This comprehensive system ensures every participant — ages 4 through 18 — has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Players, families, school programs, and the broader community all benefit from a model designed to support long-term growth.

Our Mission

Coast FA is committed to growing youth soccer throughout the region, expanding access to quality programming, and promoting county-wide league competition. We also continue to develop regional tournament events that strengthen the club and contribute to the local economy.

Commitment to Access

As a nonprofit organization, Coast FA ensures that cost never becomes a barrier for a child who wants to play. Our Scholarship Program supports economically disadvantaged families across the region. Player fees cover only a portion of the expenses required to operate high-quality programs — including field leases, uniforms, coaching staff, maintenance, sanitation, turf care, equipment, and lighting. Broad community support allows us to deliver the level of programming our families expect.

Fast-paced soccer is capturing the interest of area Strand youth in a big way! Families from across our region are participating in record numbers in the largest youth sport in the world. In 2006, a much needed effort to bring our community in line with the programs offered in other regions of our state, local soccer organizations pooled resources and began addressing the long term needs of our region. The unified club, Coast Futbol Alliance or Coast FA, now draws from the best talent in our area to offer an all-inclusive soccer program.

With top-flight staff coaching and dedicated volunteers, the Coast FA McDonald’s Recreation League offers youth of all skill levels a great experience in Spring and Fall. The Player Development Center (PDC) is in place year round for players who desire to improve skill beyond recreational; and, for our older youth seeking to play in high school and college, we offer Select and Challenge opportunities.

 Hence, all participants have the opportunity to realize their full potential. Players, parents, school athletics and the community are the beneficiaries of a system that addresses the needs of all of its participants, ages 4 to 18.

The mission is to grow youth soccer in communities throughout our regional area and promote county-wide league competition. We are also busy developing regional host tournament events that will strengthen the club and provide a boost to our local economy.

Coast FA is a non-profit organization. We never let the “cost to play” alienate those who have the “desire to play”. Our Scholarship Program is in place for economically disadvantaged youth throughout the region. Program expenses include field leases, uniforms, staff coaching, field maintenance, sanitation, turf care, equipment and lights. And, while player fees make up a portion of our revenue, programs of this quality can only be delivered with broad community support.
