Coast Futbol Alliance (Coast FA) traces its roots to the early growth of youth soccer along the Grand Strand. The organization’s foundation was strengthened in 2005, when three local programs —
Coastal Soccer Club, Horry-Georgetown Recreation,
and Ocean Strand Soccer Club — unified their efforts to create a single, community-driven home for player development across Horry and Georgetown Counties.
Although the club’s nonprofit entity was originally formed in
1993, the 2005 merger marked the beginning of the modern Coast FA identity. The goal was simple: bring together the area’s best coaches, volunteers, and resources to build a complete soccer pathway for every player, from recreational beginners to elite competitors.
In the years that followed, Coast FA expanded rapidly. The club introduced structured recreational leagues, launched academy and select programs, and grew into one of the largest youth soccer organizations on the Grand Strand. Today, Coast FA serves more than 1,500 recreational players and over 300 select players annually, supported by licensed coaches, community partnerships, and a commitment to long-term player development.
From its origins as three separate community programs to its current role as a regional soccer leader, Coast FA continues to honor its founding purpose:
to provide every player the opportunity to learn, grow, and love the game in a positive, challenging environment.
